Impact of Amazon deforestation on tropical atmospheric circulation and global climate (especially via changes in CO2)

Ongoing anthropogenic deforestation in Amazon region affects climate through increased sensible heat flux, reduced local moisture recycling, and by releasing carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. What is the effect of Amazon deforestation on climate and how it will change through the 21st century? To address these questions, numerical experiments need to be performed with the MPI Earth system model.
