Use and compare different methods to analyze climate feedbacks and radiative forcing.

Relation between skill in simulating present-day cloud properties and climate sensitivity:

I use a perturbed physics ensemble to assess relations between the skill of simulating present-day cloud properties and climate sensitivity. I try to learn lessons from the simpler ensemble for the more complex multi-model ensemble of CMIP3.

Relation between model errors on short and climate time scales:

Currently I'm making ECHAM part of a data assimilation/forecast cycle to evaluate fast physical processes directly with observations.
