Teaching and Supervision

In the International Max Planck Research School on Earth System Modelling (IMPRS) I give lectures on mathematical and numerical aspects of atmosphere and ocean modelling. Typically these lectures run for one semester. There aim is to give an introduction to the field of atmosphere/ocean modelling from an applied math perspective. The topics that the courses typically cover comprise: geophysical waves, discretization methods, scaling, an overview of the atmospheric and oceanic equations and their approximation.  below you find a list of lectures that have already taken place and that are planned for the next semester:
