Ground base information

The Raingauge provided from CIMH is a stainless steel outdoor unit with a diameter of 8 inch. It collect rain passing through debris-filtering screen and filling one of two tipping buckets inside the gauge. When a given amount of water is collected, the bucket tips and causing a magnet to pass over a switch for detection. Then the second bucket can be filled. The tips are counted by a small electronic device designed and built by Marvin Forde from CIMH and there they are summed up and stored on a computer.
